Learn About Membership

The Nebraska Insurance Federation has two types of members, Regular Members and Associate Members.  All Membership applications are subject to approval from the Board of Directors.  Members of the Federation are able to participate in policy discussions, attend Federation events, and receive regular communication from the Executive Director on all public policy, political, and regulatory developments in Nebraska.

Regular Membership is open to any insurance company holding a current certificate of authority to transact the business of insurance in Nebraska and with a presence in Nebraska.  Insurance companies that are members of the same insurance holding company system and are otherwise eligible for membership may each apply for regular membership if each company has separate employees and operates independently of the others.

Associate Membership is open to any insurance company not meeting the criteria for regular membership as well as the following entities if the entities’ interest aligns with those in the insurance industry:

  • National Insurance Company Trade Associations
  • Actuarial Firms
  • Law Firms
  • Consulting Firms
  • Accounting Firms

Associate members may participate in policy discussions of the Federation and serve on Committees; however are not eligible to serve on the Board of Directors, as officers, or to vote.
